Businesses vote yes! To continue Business Improvement District

27.04.17

For the third consecutive time businesses have voted in favour of continuing the Blackburn Economic Development Zone Business Improvement District (BID). The BID covers Blackburn’s Greenbank, Furthergate and Whitebirk business parks, and is focussed on making the area safer and greener: improving security, cleanliness and image of the business parks.

Growth Lancashire have the knowledge and experience required in managing the full BID ballot process including the legislative framework governing the BID process, and the practical understanding of managing the businesses within the BID area through the voting process.

Newground Together called on this expertise to provide additional capacity leading up to the re-ballot. Growth Lancashire supported by making the third party arrangements to ensure the postal ballot complied with the relevant legislation and co-ordinating with the local authority to secure the necessary authorities and amendments to the rateable value lists where appropriate.

Growth Lancashire also assisted on a day to day basis, organising photographers and graphic designers to produce the new BID prospectus and flyers, updating the BID website, and liaising with BID businesses and the BID board.
