Boost Business Lancashire

Boost Business Lancashire (Boost) is the Lancashire Business Growth Hub led by the Lancashire LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership).

Phase one of Boost, which started in July 2013 and completed in November 2015, has already provided growth advice and support to over 2,800 local businesses across Lancashire, with many benefiting from tailored programmes of consultancy, grants or mentoring to support their growth.

The role of Boost is to help growth-hungry Lancashire businesses realise their potential by providing simple access to a range of leading-edge funded programmes, delivered by specialists with a track record of growing established and innovative start-up businesses.

The service has been developed and will be delivered via a partnership between Lancashire County Council, Community & Business Partners, Regenerate Pennine Lancashire and Winning Pitch, with funding provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Boost also helps businesses access specialist private sector business support, as well as other nationally funded programmes, where relevant.

Boost can help businesses address a number of growth challenges and opportunities, including:

  • Developing a growth strategy
  • Raising finance
  • Sales and marketing
  • Growth mentoring and coaching
  • Starting a business

Am I eligible?

In order to be eligible for support from Boost, growth-hungry businesses / new business ideas must meet the following criteria:

  • Be based in Lancashire
  • Employ fewer than 250 full-time employees
  • Have an annual turnover of less than £40 million, and/or
  • Have an annual balance sheet total of less than £35 million
  • Have received less than £160,000 of publicly funded support in the last 3 years
  • Not trading as a retail or business to consumer industry
