A new Chorley based company that installs stone columns into earth to strengthen soft ground for construction projects has created 14 jobs, with support from a government grant.
Town and Country Vibro Ltd (TCV) specialise in the design and installation of vibro stone columns across the United Kingdom, a fast, efficient, and environmentally friendly method of ground improvement suitable for supporting housing, warehouses and all aspects of low-rise buildings.
To honour a flood of orders and create jobs, TCV needed to purchase suitable specific plant machinery to install the stone columns properly.
They contacted Regenerate Pennine Lancashire, who contributed a partial grant of £75,000 towards the full cost of three vibro rigs. The grant funding was supported by the Government’s Regional Growth Fund, leading to the creation of the new roles.

“The grant helped us purchase the scarcely available equipment we needed and to handpick a highly qualified, experienced multi skilled and well-connected team who will help us reach our goal of becoming a market leader. We are now on our way to achieve a first year turnover of over £2.0m.”

Grants from £5k to £1m are available until April 2015 for eligible business to businesses organisations inLancashire, to help them start and grow.
