New Burnley business “flying high” after grant support

26.11.14

A new Burnley business that manufactures aerial photography equipment has secured non-repayable grant funding to help purchase new machinery and take on staff.

Formed in 2011, Aeroxcraft Ltd are a manufacturer of electronically stabilised camera gimbals. They applied for a grant of £17,000 from Fuse Fund, part of a total investment of £68,000, to purchase new equipment that will allow them to develop a new range of products. The products will enable the company to target a higher professional market and compete with imports from China.

Commenting on the awarding of the grant, managing director Robert Green said:

“Receiving the funding has meant we have not only been able to buy this new state of the art machinery but we’ve managed to secure two existing jobs at Aeroxcraft, and are looking to take on two more.

“We have purchased a Fanuc Robodrill Machining Centre. This machine enables us to produce very high quality aluminium parts for our products in large quantities.”

“The machines capabilities have opened up new design possibilities for our future products. In a growing and quickly developing market it is essential to keep ahead of the competition and the grant we received from FUSE is helping us to achieve this.”

Fuse Fund is delivered by Regenerate Pennine Lancashire and Lancashire Business View magazine, with Blackburn with Darwen Council, and is supported by the Government’s Regional Growth Fund. Businesses can find out more here.
