New faces at Growth Lancashire

16.10.20

We are delighted to announce our third appointment of 2020, hiring Joanne McKay to the role of Heritage and Conservation Assistant. Joanne joins Growth Lancashire having recently completed a Masters (with distinction) in building conservation and adaptation at the University of Central Lancashire. The company works closely with the University, providing planning workshops as well as work experience placements for existing students. Joanne will support the delivery of the company’s heritage and conservation consultancy to both private clients and its Local Authority partners, having now been appointed by six Councils across the region.

Joanne’s appointment further strengthens the company’s growing role as a provider of specialist services. Earlier in the year, the company appointed Roland Jones, Arboricultural Officer, who now leads the company’s tree service having amassed 25 years’ experience working for Blackburn with Darwen, Bolton, Sefton and West Lancashire Councils.

Heading the team is Ian Bond, the company’s lead officer for specialist services. Also joining the company on a permanent basis earlier this year, Ian will oversee the growth of the company’s expanding specialist services remit, including its plan to deliver £1m of new activity over the next 4 years for both public and private clients.

Commenting on the appointments, Matthew Sidgreaves, Head of Growth Lancashire, said: “despite the challenging economic situation, this is a really exciting time for the company and I am delighted to be growing our specialist services offering. Ian, Roland and Joanne each bring key skills and experience to the team and I am looking forward to helping them deliver our plans and create value for our existing and future clients.”
