Rawtenstall manufacturer secures deals overseas

18.06.13

A new manufacturing company from Rawtenstall has secured international deals after receiving free business support.

JEI Solutions specialise in the manufacture, supply and technical support of a wide range of drilling and metal working machines. Managing Director David McFadden recognised there was a market for his business overseas, and heard about a free support package that helps new businesses with international trade.

Through the programme, which is managed by Regenerate Pennine Lancashire, David attended workshops that helped him develop complex trading arrangements. He also received one-to-one coaching to help him understand the arrangements and other support through the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce. JEI’s General Manager Adrina Barnes also accessed free training with a Human Resources coach to help manage that area of the business.

The support has helped the business grow and access new routes to market. David said: “I found the overall experience very helpful and now the orders are beginning to flow. The level of support I received in putting together an effective agreement has provided my business with a good foundation on which to build new markets and maintain an existing overseas client base.”

The help was available through Regenerate’s Pennine LEAP programme, which is supported by the European Regional Development Fund.
