Tim’s MBE for Services to Business and the Community in Lancashire was published in the New Year’s Honours list.

The awards recognise the achievements of a wide range of extraordinary people across the UK. The Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire said in his congratulatory letter to Tim that they “are rare and always richly deserved”.

A delighted Tim commented, “I’m absolutely overwhelmed to receive this great honour for something I love doing, which is helping develop and make better my home town of Pendle and the area surrounding it.

It’s with the help of Family, Friends and colleagues that my company has been so successful in doing this. The hard work doesn’t stop here though and using the award I will continue to promote East Lancashire as a fantastic place to work and live.”

The former BIBAs Lancastrian of the Year (2010) is an extremely proactive and hands on businessman within Lancashire and is actively involved in all the strategic development companies Barnfield have in place with all private and public sector partners such as Hyndburn, Pendle, Burnley and Rossendale Council. Tim is the driving force behind some of East Lancashire’s major regeneration schemes.

In addition to his primary role at the helm of Barnfield, Tim also sits on the board of other local organisations including Training 2000, Canal & River Trust and was nominated to act as Chairman for Regenerate Pennine Lancashire in early 2014.

Under Tim’s chairmanship Regenerate has supported hundreds of businesses with their growth, committing £6m in grants, and helped to create over 550 jobs.
