Growth Lancashire was invited to partner with Burnley, Pendle, and Rossendale Councils to project manage their UK Government Community Renewal Funded Growth and Innovation Grant Project. These three districts were identified as priority places within the Government’s index of economic resilience.
The project was hugely successful, exceeding its original targets. A total of £962,000 was granted across 46 businesses, resulting in the creation of 194 jobs and the development of 17 innovation plans. Growth Lancashire ensured that businesses from each of the participating local authority districts benefited equally from the grant fund, supporting both business growth and innovation.
One notable beneficiary was Burnley-based HRX People Limited, which received a £10,000 grant to develop its sustainable and innovative cloud-based HR software system. Designed for simplicity and accessibility, the system can be used from any device, anywhere, at any time. It promotes sustainability by minimising HR paperwork and simplifies processes such as managing holidays, absences, and driver checks. The software embraces the latest technology to deliver a seamless user experience and is competitively priced at £2 per employee per month, with its user base growing rapidly.
In addition to the software, HRX People offers businesses the opportunity to partner with them and earn 50% of any billed revenue.
HRX People was recognised at the recent Northern Enterprise Awards, winning the title of ‘Leading Providers of SME HR Software’. The judges praised the company for its dedication to customer service, satisfaction, and retention, as well as its commitment to excellence.
Lisa Sourbutts, Managing Director at HRX People Limited, commented:
“We’re absolutely delighted to win! We’ve worked really hard to bring an innovative product into a crowded market and to be awarded the title of Leading Provider when we are so new to the market is amazing. Our early adopters have given us outstanding feedback and I’m so proud of how the design and development team have brought the system to life. All of this would not have been possible without the Community Renewal Fund grant.”
