Growth Lancashire has signed up to become a Northern Powerhouse partner.  The Northern Powerhouse is the Government’s ambition to bring together towns, cities and rural communities across the North to drive economic growth.

The partner programme is an essential part of creating the Northern Powerhouse. It is a network of partners who all believe strongly in the economic potential of the North, and support the need for a combined effort by Government and business to realise that potential.

Growth Lancashire is a local authority owned private sector led economic development and business support company – it’s mission is to contribute towards growing productivity, prosperity and places across the County, aligning perfectly with the aims of the Northern Powerhouse.

In recent years, with Government backing, Growth Lancashire has supported thousands of businesses to start and grow, creating over 4,000 jobs, and encouraging over £80m private investment. The company has been a delivery partner for Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub, Boost, since its inception in 2012.

Chairman, Tim Webber MBE said “We are a great example of the public and private sector working together to pool resources and expertise, to deliver projects across local authority boundaries to achieve faster results, value for money and attract greater levels of private sector investment”.
