Burnley businessman looking forward to 2013 thanks to start up support

02.01.13

Thanks to assistance from a business start up support programme, Mike Emmett is looking forward to growing his new business in 2013.

Mike will provide business development and consultancy services to small to medium sized businesses. He received expert business coaching through Pennine LEAP, supported by the European Regional Development Fund, to help get his business running.

Pennine LEAP provides new businesses with access to a four day Boot camp, Human Resources specialists, social enterprise coaching and international trade expertise as well as access to an experienced business mentor for up to two years. Pennine LEAP is delivered by Regenerate Pennine Lancashire and a network of enterprise partners including Enterprise4all and Winning pitch.

The support will enable Mike to recruit two members of staff during 2013.

Mike Emmett said: “The Pennine LEAP programme really helped me focus on growing my business. Their coaches are first class and helped me to create a comprehensive business plan as a foundation. I’m also working alongside Regenerate’s Lancashire Innovation Network, who provide technology support.”

Steve Hoyle, Managing Director of Regenerate, said: “As we enter 2013, we’d like people who’ve been thinking of starting a business for a while to take a LEAP and find out what free support is available to them. Regenerate is hoping to help 400 businesses start up this year – will yours be one of them?”
