A company that supplies furniture to retailers around the UK is set to create new jobs in Morecambe after receiving free business support.

Edmondson Ltd distributes furniture on behalf of European manufacturers, such as Siematic in Germany. They spotted an opportunity to grow their business by improving the efficiency of the service provided to these European customers.

To achieve this, they updated their management, accounting and email systems so that they all worked together and were more efficient.

Support came from Regenerate Pennine Lancashire who helped the company find a software developer and partially funded its creation.

As a result of the new management system, Edmondson expect to create up to 9 jobs, and 10 others with be safeguarded.

Company Director Russell Edmondson said:

“The support from Regenerate has been invaluable. They enabled us access to finance for the project, which is an innovative step forward for the company. The project will vastly improve the speed at which we can complete orders, so we can take on more work”.

Edmondson received support from Regenerate’s Lancashire Innovation Network programme, which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
