Sweetheart Marketing in Burnley is ready to employ new staff after receiving free HR support from Boost Business Lancashire.
Charlotte Miskell set up the marketing agency in May 2012, creating the business from her mother’s kitchen table. She now has a successful business servicing international companies as far away as Australia, as well as servicing UK companies.
Due to growth, Charlotte wanted to employ additional staff and sought support on HR from Boost. She attended 3 essential HR seminars and received free HR coaching through Boost’s Lancashire LEAP programme, which helps businesses in the county that have been trading less than 3 years achieve their growth ambitions. The HR support was provided by Community & Business Partners.
From this, Charlotte was able to set up policies and procedures relating to recruitment, induction and employment. She is now looking to employ more staff in the near future, including a graphic designer, and also offers work experience placements to Burnley College students.
Charlotte said:

It has really made a difference. Having the correct HR procedures in place means I can concentrate on marketing the business to new customers and developing it further.”
