Government pledges to help companies export

23.01.14

The Government has announced a new programme of support to get mid sized businesses exporting.

The Trade Minister Lord Livingston plans to contact all 8,900 mid-sized businesses in the country before summer, to offer tailored trade advice and an intensive programme of support to help them export or break into new markets.

In response to the news, Regenerate Pennine Lancashire wants to remind businesses considering participating in the programme that they may be eligible to access up to £1million in non repayable grant funding for growth projects. Regenerate’s grant programmes are supported by the Regional Growth Fund.

Hugh Roberts, Deputy Director at Regenerate said:

“The funding can help businesses that would like to grow, take on additional orders and hire more staff.”

“If businesses decide to take up the Government offer of support, they may wish to apply for funding to contribute towards the costs of machinery needed to increase or tailor output. Alternatively, businesses may require funding to expand their property to meet demand. The funding could help remove barriers so that companies can implement these projects quicker.”
