Green Scenery, a South Ribble based grounds maintenance and landscaping business, has secured a £100,000 investment from NPIF II – River Capital & GC Business Finance Smaller Loans, following support and introduction from Growth Lancashire’s Gill Nolan and Debbie Chinn.
Debbie introduced them to mentor James Wignall – a procurement specialist who supported them as they wanted to get in to new markets.
Supporting Growth Across Lancashire and Beyond
Green Scenery operates across a wide geographical area, from Morecambe and the Fylde Coast to the Yorkshire Borders and Greater Manchester serving more than 45 schools, colleges, supermarkets, social housing providers, and commercial clients.
Investment to Drive New Services and Skills
The £100k funding will be used to:
- Develop staff through specialist training
- Build a mezzanine floor within the company’s Preston base
- Invest in arboriculture equipment, including a chipper machine
- Recruit additional qualified arborists
The investment is also expected to support the creation of eight new apprenticeships, reinforcing the company’s commitment to nurturing local talent and expanding its skilled workforce.
Simon Astbury, Managing Director, Green Scenery, said:
“We’ve worked hard over the past 15 years to build a business we’re genuinely proud of. This investment gives us the opportunity to take the next step in our development. Arboriculture is an exciting new growth area for us, and the support we’ve received enables us to broaden our services and continue investing in our team. We worked with both Debbie Chinn and Gill Nolan from Growth Lancashire who have both proved to be invaluable.”
