Growth Lancashire Supports WorkWell

Growth Lancashire is proud to support WorkWell, a forward-thinking programme helping individuals in Blackburn with Darwen with physical or mental health conditions to either enter employment, return after absence, or stay in work.

Now featured in Lancashire Business View – the county’s leading independent voice for commerce, industry and regeneration – WorkWell is gaining momentum as a valuable asset for both employers and employees across Lancashire.

What is WorkWell?

WorkWell is a free and voluntary service designed to support people facing health-related barriers to employment. It offers early intervention to reduce the risk of people falling out of work, while also helping those who’ve already left employment return with the right support in place.

At the heart of the programme is the Work and Health Coach, who works closely with each participant to develop a tailored support plan. The coach helps individuals navigate local services, build confidence, and make realistic steps toward better health and job stability.

Who Can Access WorkWell?

To be eligible, individuals must either live, work, or be registered with a GP in Blackburn with Darwen and meet one of the following:

  • Recently unemployed (within the last 6 months) with a low-level health condition
  • Currently off work due to a health concern
  • In work, but at risk of leaving due to a health condition

If you don’t quite meet this criteria, the Blackburn with Darwen Wellbeing Service may still be able to help.
