It gives us great pleasure in announcing that Joanne McKay has been successful in her application for the position of Lead for Specialist Services. Joanne brings to the role a wealth of leadership and management experience and is a great role model.
Joanne takes over from Ian Bond who has done a fantastic job of growing the company’s specialist services and building a great team of people. Ian has taken a new part-time role within the company as a Heritage Consultant.
Joanne is one of our most experienced Heritage and Conservation specialists with a BA (Hons) degree in Heritage Management and an MSc in Building Conservation and Adaptation (with Distinction). In addition, she has qualifications and experience in Site Carpentry and Historical Architecture & Interior Design, Retrofit and people management working within a Local Authority environment, which spans over 20 years.
The team supports the recognition and protection of heritage across thirteen local authorities through the assessment of Listed Building Consents, planning proposals, pre-application enquiries and providing expert advice for appeals and enforcement cases. The team also deliver project work which includes undertaking Conservation Area Assessments and undertaking Heritage Assessments for private clients. Joanne is also responsible for the company’s arboricultural offer, a high-quality tree service that helps councils, landowners, and property owners obtain the necessary advice to undertake work on important or protected trees.
