Over 60 Lancashire based business people met in Lancaster this week to receive up to date tips on digital marketing to help them compete and grow.

The seminar, held at the Storey Creative Industries Centre on July 28, gave attendees the opportunity to learn the fundamental business aspects of Twitter and Facebook, learning how to use modern customer channels more effectively. The event also provided businesses people from across the county with the opportunity to network and discuss their existing experience of using social media.

Guest speakers Nikki Hesford (Miss Fit UK) and Bruce Thomas (Modern English) provided case studies of how they have used social media to expand their client base, boost sales and create useful contacts.

The event was organised by Regenerate, an Accrington based economic development agency that offers county wide business support through its Lancashire Innovation Network service (which is supported by the European Regional Development Fund).

Event attendee Sylvia R Poll, Consultant Mentor for All About Weight Lancaster, said:

“The social media seminar was very informative, with brilliant speakers. I’ve never attended a Lancashire Innovation Network event before, but will definitely attend again and will be recommending them to friends. I will use the information I learnt today to help me target my marketing more effectively, so more people hear about our products and plans”.

Steve Hoyle, Managing Director of Regenerate, said:

“Regenerate has previously supported thousands of businesses in Pennine Lancashire and we are looking forward to working with more companies in our new coverage area for our innovation service, which now includes Lancaster and Morecambe.”

“Our events help businesses stay up to date with modern technologies and allow them to compete with other companies who are already using such techniques to their advantage.”

The next seminar, which highlights the potential of LinkedIn as a business tool, takes place at the Woodlands Conference Centre, Chorley on August 25th.
