New jobs secured for Heysham security firm

15.07.13

A Heysham business that supplies cleaning and security services to companies around the UK is set to take on more staff.

AM Support Services (AMS) have a broad customer base that include airports, hospitals and universities. They recognised they could become more efficient by implementing a new accounting system, as well as an automated staff scheduling system for the increasing number of security professionals they employ.

They contacted Regenerate Pennine Lancashire, who oversaw a specification for the new technology as well as an invitation to tender to potential software developers. They also provided AMS with partial finance for the project.

This will enable them to take on more business and as a result AMS are looking to create five additional administration and management positions as well as a large number of part-time jobs.

Adrian Cresswell, Managing Director, said: “The support and investment from Regenerate will help streamline the management systems so we can deliver our overall growth strategy”.

Hugh Roberts, Business Support and Innovation Manager at Regenerate said: “We are pleased that AMS will take on additional staff off the back of the project. One of our aims is to create jobs across Lancashire by providing companies access to growth funding and additional one to one support.”

The support was funded by the European Regional Development Fund for Regenerate’s Lancashire Innovation Network programme.
