Preston cleaners to take on staff thanks to gleaming business support

A family run business in Preston has received free business support and an ‘Enterprise Voucher’ to help it purchase essential equipment needed to grow and take on staff.

Green City Cleaning

Simon Campbell took over his father’s business, Green City Cleaning, in 2013. The company offers a range of services, including the cleaning of carpets, upholstery and both indoor and outdoor flooring.

As a new business owner, Simon searched for local business support and discovered the Start Up Lancashire (SUL) programme, delivered by Regenerate Pennine Lancashire and Orvia.

Through this, Simon accessed over 12 hours of free, high value business workshops from Orvia, which covered essentials such as marketing, networking and how to source finance.

At the end of the programme Simon applied for the Enterprise Voucher, which helped him buy top of the range cleaning equipment. From this, Simon aims to create a new role at the company.

Simon said:

“The support has helped me develop a solid business plan to help me achieve my business goals. Arguably, the Enterprise Voucher from Regenerate will have the biggest impact. The new cleaning equipment will enable me to apply for larger contracts, with the aim of creating at least one job in the near future.”

“The programme also introduced me to contacts at the North & Western Chamber of Commerce, which has provided me with a wealth of experience and documents to draw upon.”

Start Up Lancashire is supported by the European Regional Development Fund. Businesses can find out more at growthlancs.wpengine.com
