Start Up September – free events for new businesses

If you are considering starting a business in Lancashire, this September is the perfect time to do it. There are 15 free events and workshops being run by different organisations to help you access the advice, funding and support you need to get your business off the ground.

Want to put together a business plan?

If you are starting a new company, you’ll need to formulate a business plan. The free Business Planning Essentials seminar in Skelmersdale on September 12th looks at what you need to consider before starting your own business, including legal structures, who to inform, taxes, record keeping, premises, insurances, sources of finance. You’ll also discover what you need to include in your business plan.

The Essentials of Finance and Marketing seminar in Wyre on September 27th covers all the essentials you need to know to help you promote your new business and manage your cash flow.

Wanting to Access finance?

If you want to start and grow your own business, it is essential to know what types of finance are available to help you.

The Funding Lancashire’s Businesses to Grow seminar on September 18th in Preston will include information about new alternative sources and types of funding – including peer to peer lending, trade finance, regional loads and grants. It is being run as part of the North West Chamber’s Be Inspired business week.

The Finance for Business Growth event on September 17th in Blackpool, as part of Boost Business Lancashire. Attendees will learn how to access government capital grants of between £5,000 and £1m to support of their growth plans. It includes information on the Fuse Fund, which provides grant funding to new businesses in Lancashire.
